So what is it?

Bioheat® fuel is made by blending ultra-low sulfur heating oil with renewable biodiesel. Bioheat® fuel comes in a variety of blends that are identified by the percentage of biodiesel in the blend.

So Where Does Biodiesel Come From?

Biodiesel used to make Bioheat® fuel blends is domestically produced right here in the United States. Biodiesel is actually made from a whole handful of readily available feedstocks, including:

  • Soybean oil

  • Inedible corn oil

  • Animal fats

  • Canola oil

  • Used cooking oil

Since biodiesel can be made from a diverse number of sustainable feedstocks in the United States, it contributes to thousands of jobs and doesn’t put pressure onto a single source. In addition, all these feedstocks are proven to reduce greenhouse gas emissions significantly.

What Changes Need To Be Made To My System?

If you have an oil heating system, you can start using Bioheat® fuel with no extra costs or conversions needed for your equipment! Bioheat helps heating systems operate at peak efficiency, reducing the need for service calls. It is completely safe to use and extends equipment life.
